Creating your brand with several people: good idea or bad idea?
Yasmina Depas
When launching a project, we have three options:
working alone, working in pairs… or surrounding yourself with a team.
And yet, we often hear more about the clashes than the successes.
Partnerships have a bad reputation.
Conflicts, disagreements, professional breakups…
And yet — for me — creating a project as a duo was one of the best decisions of my entrepreneurial journey.
Really.
💛 Why can joining forces be a strength?
🔷 Valuable mutual support
Having a partner allows you to share responsibilities, support each other through difficult times, and divide tasks according to each person's talents.
Management becomes more fluid, and decision-making is less cumbersome.
🔷 Daily motivation
Entrepreneurship is a journey full of ups and downs.
Having someone who motivates you, encourages you, and lifts you up during more difficult times... it changes everything.
🔷 Celebrating victories together
Every small success takes on a whole new dimension when it is shared.
We savor the journey even more.
🌿 But forming a partnership isn't easy either
There are challenges to anticipate:
🔷 Differences of opinion
Disagreements are bound to arise.
The secret? Communicate clearly and kindly, so that you can express yourself without hurting the other person.
🔷 Task allocation
Defining roles from the start avoids ambiguity, frustration, and duplication.
🔷 Conflict management & important decisions
You need to establish in advance how you will decide in case of disagreement: vote, discussion, designated contact person…
A clear system = less tension.
✨ Some tips for a successful entrepreneurial duo
🔸 Have a shared vision
Objectives, values, ambitions: align them from the start.
🔸 Define everyone's roles
Who does what? With what responsibilities?
🔸 Communicate without filters
Regular, honest, and constructive dialogue is essential.
🔸 Plan for setback points
Moments to assess progress, readjust, breathe.
💫 In summary
Partnering can require more emotional work and organization…
But the human richness, complementarity and strength of a well-balanced duo are invaluable.
If you choose to embark on this venture together, do so with someone you trust and with whom you deeply share the same values — this is the key to a harmonious and lasting collaboration.
Dare to grow together. 💛
